Hello Parents~
It's been a great ride these last few months! First of all, thank you to the best West Coast fans ever for your support of the Super Bowl Saints. The whole CTK community, Garden Cafe, and beyond rallied behind the "Who Dat"nation (yes, I know we talk funny in the South) to cheer on the football team, the state, and especially the city of New Orleans. Heartwarming!
Moving along, we celebrated the biggest Third Grade event and the most exciting--Mardi Gras! Without a doubt, this class threw the most beads--it's all about the beads. We had such fun parading around the school with the greatest and most unique floats imaginable. Thanks for joining us in the revelry.
Somehow we managed to have a Valentine's party--it's all about the partying, huh?--pretend to be President to honor our founders, go global with "Creative Countries" (ask your children about their mythical country's flag), and continue to collect treats and toys for the Martinez Animal Shelter. The "ambassador" dog Matilda the basset hound - aw-w-w - visited our class to teach about pet care and safety. We then hauled away boxes and bags of donations for the shelter. Whew! We've been busy.
Looking ahead, we're turning the corner with higher multiplication and are ready to expand our knowledge. Our WASC accreditation visit is March 3-5. A field trip to the Lawrence Hall of Science has been planned for March 30. Get ready to dissect a squid--ew-w-w-w.
Thanks, as always, for your support and encouragement in all areas of "Third Gradeville." We are happy, growing and changing during this season of Lent, and ready to roll with more activities this final trimester. Oh, and yes, more partying for whatever reason! ~Mrs. Sihler
