Grade 6

September 16, 2010

Dear Sixth Grade Parents,

Next week, September 20 - 24, we’ll take the IOWA test, so we won’t be changing classes as we normally do. I will use the additional time to immerse the students in several excellent cross curricular lessons from our FOSS (Lawrence Hall of Science) unit on populations and ecosystems.

The students will have P.E., Spanish, and supplemental assignments in Language Arts and Social Studies, but no math classes.

In science, we’ll do activities about aquatic habitat, oceans, and the islands of Hawaii. We’ll do simulations, group problem solving, and view several programs from this series.

There will be no homework assigned.

Sincerely,

Mr. Dan DeGennaro
